Credits are what generating costs. Your plan includes an amount of them, and you can buy more.
The rule that matters most: you are only charged for work that produced something.
What spends credits
Anything that makes new media:
- Generating an image or a video
- Erasing something from a picture
- Upscaling
- Each item in a bulk run, counted separately
Cost varies by what you are making. Video costs considerably more than an image. Larger sizes and higher quality settings cost more than smaller and lower. The exact figure is shown before you commit — you never find out afterwards.
What is free
- Browsing, searching, and looking at anything
- Your whole library: organising, folders, favourites
- Downloading your own work, as often as you like
- Uploading files
Held, then spent
When you start a generation the cost is held, and only actually spent once the result is saved.
If the work fails, is cancelled, or is rejected, the hold is released and the credits come back.
This is why your balance can briefly read lower than you expect while something is running. That amount is reserved, not gone.
For a bulk run it applies item by item: you pay for the items that produced something and not for the ones that did not. A batch that half-fails charges you for half. See when something goes wrong.
Where credits come from
| Source | Notes |
|---|---|
| Your plan | an allowance included with it |
| Buying more | top up at any time, independently of your plan |
| Referrals | see inviting friends |
| Bonuses | occasional promotions and goodwill adjustments |
Checking your balance
Your balance sits at the bottom of the menu, next to Add Credits, and the cost of whatever you are about to run is printed on the button that starts it. Your billing settings hold the history — what was added, what was spent, and on what.
If a figure looks wrong, check the history first. The common explanations are a hold on work still running, or a bulk run that cost more in total than any one item in it looked like it would.
If it still looks wrong an hour later, contact support with roughly when it happened.
Running out
Generating stops. Nothing is deleted, nothing is lost, and your library stays exactly as it is — you simply cannot start new work until you have credits again.
Two ways forward: buy more, or move to a plan with a larger allowance. See plans and payment.
Spending less
- Draft cheap. Get the prompt right on a fast, low-cost model, then run the final version on a better one.
- Generate small, upscale the keeper. Cheaper than generating everything large.
- Settle ideas on stills before making video. A still costs a fraction of a clip and answers most questions about framing and light.
- Use the “how many” setting rather than repeated single attempts. Four at once gives you a choice; four in a row gives you four verdicts.
- Do not run a batch on an unproven prompt. A batch multiplies the mistake as faithfully as the idea.
