Deleting your account removes it and the work in it. It is meant to be permanent, and the steps in front of it exist because it is.
First: is this what you want?
Three different things get confused with each other:

Cancelling and deleting are not the same, and cancelling is what most people actually want.
Before you delete
Download anything you want to keep. Your library goes with the account, and there is no way to get it back afterwards. Select what matters and download it — this is the step people regret skipping. See downloading and deleting.
Also worth doing first:
- Cancel or note your plan status, so you understand what happens to the period you have paid for
- Request any referral earnings that are available to withdraw
- Spend or accept the loss of remaining credits — they are not refundable and they do not transfer
How to delete
From the danger zone in your settings. It is separated from the rest deliberately so you cannot arrive there by mis-clicking.
You confirm on the page, and then confirm again from an email sent to your address. Two steps, because a single button next to ordinary settings is one mis-click away from permanent, and because the email step proves the request came from someone with access to the account rather than from someone sitting at your unlocked computer.
Until you complete the email step, nothing is removed.
What is removed
- Your library — everything generated, uploaded, downloaded and edited
- Your profile
- Your settings, folders, favourites and saved posts
- Your remaining credits
What is not removed
- Records that must be kept, such as billing and tax records. These are kept because the law requires it, not because they are useful to us.
- Copies other people already have. Anything downloaded or shared onward before you deleted is out of our reach.
That last point is worth being clear-eyed about. Deleting your account removes what we hold. It cannot retrieve what has already left.
Changing your mind
There is a seven-day window between confirming deletion and the account actually going, and while it is running the app tells you the deletion is pending. Cancel it in that window and nothing is lost.
Once the window closes, the account and its contents are gone and cannot be restored. Support cannot recover them either — not as a policy, but because the data no longer exists.
Signing up again afterwards
You can create a new account with the same email address. It is a new account: empty library, no credits, no plan, and the old username may not be available.
Nothing from the old account carries over.
If you cannot complete it
If you cannot reach the confirmation email — because the address on the account is one you have lost — contact support rather than abandoning it. Fix the email address first if you still can; see account and profile settings.
